Time to walk away from Karzai. Pull out all but a relative handful troops. Let the remaining special ops reestablish ties with a reliable, competent ally within the Northern Alliance. The NA was fighting the Taliban long before 9/11 and seem to have been pushed aside since the Taliban were forced out. Turn back the clock and let the NA do their thing, fighting the Taliban, again with our technical and humanitarian assistance. And don't interfere by installing another unpopular, autocratic corrupt, puppet government when the NA defeats the Taliban a second time.
