Infinity is unbounded or unlimited. Black hole scientists note that when you approach the event horizon of a black hole, mathematical calculations go to infinity. Infinity associated with time is usually referred to as eternity, but eternity does not translate in the study of physical substance to anything useful, so in physics we prefer to use the term infinite and just dismiss it there. As you calculate time backward to the point of big bang you get the same results as the event horizon of a black hole but time is set at t=0 by big bang theorists because they don't have a way to deal with the concept of 'before singularity'. Singularity has space equal to zero with infinite density and heat. They are only able to calculate time from singularity to the present with speculations beyond the present. If time is infinite, then eternity extends before/after singularity, when no longer being measured linearly. Without space or matter, the concept becomes eternal present.
