Barney Frank Wants To Have Banks And Hedge Funds Pay For Assistance For Homeless Jobless; Fund Next Stimulus

Tyler Durden's picture

Just out from Reuters: Barney Frank has introduced the Frank Bank Levy Proposal, which would tax banks with more than $50 billion in assets, and hedge funds with more than $10 billion, and use the money to fund $4 billion for neighborhood assistance and foreclosure help for the jobless with good credit. In other words, big banks and hedge funds will be funding Obama's next stimulus for his core constituency.

I will rant.

BP through its deeds or misdeeds, caused a lot of damage. For some reason the American executive branch decided to intervene.

We all know that the banks have done a lot of bad things - no doubt with malice aforethought. So now comes the legislature to make things right.

Girls and boys, when we were in kindergarten we were encouraged to pay homage to those horrible, sexually maladjusted, dead white European males in their powdered wigs. You see. They were rich by in large. They had time to study history and governments. Theycame up with this great idea...are you ready....

SEPARATION OF POWERS.

More to the point each of the three while separate had rather well defined roles.

So it is not for President Obama to go kick BP's ass. It is for the courts.

It is not for Barney Frank to take from the banks and give to those who lied to get loans and were lied to about the prospects of continuously rising home prices and the probablity of being able to refinance. That is for the courts.

Memo to Barrack Obama: Go back and read the Constitution. I know that it has been a few years since you taught it. Believe me, once you hit 40 gets really hard to remember and it pays to brush up.
