They were probably setting him up for failure. Setting him up? You're kidding....he cheekily demanded and got 30K extra men for Afghanistan. When it wasn't showing results, people began to disagree with him. He didn't like it......actually his ego didn't like it. It says a lot when a corrupt Karzai sends you a 'kiss'.
