Why would they ask for it back? Obama is protecting them. He has not forced them to close that well, which could be done in a few days if he gave them the order. But BP doesn't want to lose a gusher of a well siting on a gigantic deposit of oil.

But I didn't hear any media reports that Obama got paid off to look the other way.

Of course not, they won't report anything bad about Obama. If this was Bush they would be all over him, and impeach him as well.
