It took 100 years to develop an oil based economy -- liquids based with cheap energy. It will take 50 years to switch altogether IMO, and that is just in the USA. How about the rest of the world? In the meantime, it will be a grind and tug of war. Many, if not most, people are still in love with the word "green" without really understanding its implications for our way of life, cost of living, quality of life, competitiveness, material things, etc. -- just in my opinion, and no, I am not throwing out grenades. It's just hip at the very least and no one talks seriously about bridging the gaps. Hence there is no nuclear plan or natural gas plan. There is the proof of much hypocrisy and ill intent by many who want to profit from the perceived switch.
