I don't know, but Nelson alway struck me as a very sober guy. I have felt from the first week that people were not acting fast enough, or understood the magnitude of the problem.

Why would you not find out the facts instead of assuming the worst? That's what I find most disingenuous about your rants.

Those skimmers are placed in ports all over the country in case of oil spills in those ports or their surrounding areas. Federal and state regulations require that those skimmers remain in those ports. Now, like any regulations, they can be overridden but as I reminded you in another post, Obama is president of 50 states, not just ones in the Gulf area. And while the need for those skimmers is low, Murphy's Law dictates that as soon as he moved those skimmers to the Gulf, some oil tanker would crack a hull in Long Beach harbor or some oil rig sould start leaking in the Santa Barbara Channel. So wisely the Obama administration found other sources for those skimmers.
