It is a stupid f*cking term. I'm sorry, it just is. Who the f*ck doesn't employ "best practices" in their work? And who in hell needs to be TOLD what those practices are?

The answer, of course, is a f*cking nitwit. If you need a user's guide to tell you how to do your job then it is time you moved down the corporate ladder to something you know how to do.

"Professionals don't have to be told by someone else what the "best practices" are."

They tell each other. Sure you aren't a burger flipper somewhere?

I flipped many, many thousands of burgers in my youth, starting before I was out of elementary school. And I'm certain most fast food chains have "best practices" for flipping burgers for idiots who can't do THAT, either.

Flipping burgers is not a bad thing. Those years, working for my dad, gave me an understanding of how to run a business, how to take care of customers, and how to be self-reliant. You don't get that shit at university. When I entered college I knew how to run a business and make money doing it.

I am secure in the knowledge that I can open in a burger joint next week and make more money in the coming year flipping burgers or making doughnuts than you can doing whatever the hell yo do. I don't need someone to tell me what the f*cking "best practices" are.

I would recommend some burger flipping for you and tejek and Fowler and Al. All of you should learn something about self-reliance.
