What?

That those local Louisiana government pols have been in the pocket of Big Oil for decades?

And their 'emergency response plan' was all FLUFF --- (full of BLANK PAGES for crimminy's sake! <g>)

And that wanting one and a half times all the oil containment booms in ALL OF AMERICA (that includes Alaska too! What the heck is Alaska supposed to do if there is a leak there??????), enough boom to line ALL of Louisiana's coast line more then THREE TIMES OVER ain't exactly a hallmark of 'good planning'? LOL!!!!!!!!!!

And neither is wanting to build 140 MILES of sand berms (probably taking a YEAR or MORE to finish, and at a cost of well over one Billion Dollars), likely to be much of a TIMELY or cost/effective policy response. Especially as many experts predict that as berm construction proceeded it would likely just FUNNEL oil through the yet-unfilled gaps and into marshlands at an accelerated rate. <g>

I tell you... that Jindal is one sweaty speed-talking little ferret.

He is trying ever so desperately to shift all attention AWAY from the facts that Louisiana's response plans were woefully rosy-cheeked, and LA has been deep in thrall to Big Oil for so long it's almost laughable for them to even point any fingers now.... Glass houses and all.
