" they contract others for that specific task, it's good business practice, you may not know that..."

Maybe we shouldn't trust them with the North Slope of Alaska either then (if they are so incompetent). They are the largest producer there by far. Maybe we should just take all those leases away from their 'incompetent' hands?

"it take 4 seconds to sign a waiver..."

(I can just HEAR all the Gulf's Governors SCREAMING right now about all those skimming jobs going to a handful of super-big Dutch and Norwegian outfits --- while all those ex-fishermen from the Gulf states stay out of work and on the public dole for the next couple of years! Anyway, no way in Hell ANY amount of skimming can catch even half of it. Just modest sized waves from a small storm and containment and sweep booms are over-topped.)

"That's right, they're DRILLING.."

The technology does not yet exist for the depths you talked about. Not from PetroBras (who certainly knows no more about deep water production then the best oil firms from Houston), not from the Norwegians or Russians or Chinese, not from anyone.

US firms are perceived as leading the WORLD in this area.
