It's not at all irrelevant, if ever there was a time for leadership to take positive steps to rectify a deteriorating situation it is now, and he's all about leadership, the successful kind that people like and respect.
I certainly do, although I would like to see him stop and smell the roses, rest on his laurels, and become a wise elder of tech. His medical ordeal is something that weakens a man and affects his mood and perhaps judgments at times, so I would give him a break on some recent misstatements and expect him to remember that the customer is always right, even if they aren't :-)
I really can't imagine him not coming around to a recall, I think the Intel Pentium bug issue nicely underlines the long term benefits.
The Apple folks still have time to turn this into a memorable PR plus and that's more important long term for the firm and its customers, denial and evasion is something for whiny little bltches on the Apple Inc Cognitive Biases Gone Wild SI discussion, not for a great and beloved American success story. |
