I just caught the tail-end of the CNBC's report this morning re WDC. Aparently their is very strong demand for drives, but the problem is pricing. (Can you say "overcapacity"?)

I am not being cynical here but I can now probably understand why the company did not want to respond to my inquiries. I do find it irritating tho when the IR guy tells me that the (problem) is a short term thing. No hint whatsoever of a real fundamental problem from him.

When I see CPQ almost on a daily basis slash prices on their machines......when I talked to a guy who works for computer equipment distributorship where he indicated stuff is flying off the shelves "but their is fierce pricing pressure".....when inquiries to the company go unanswered.......when I see the stock price plunge .......maybe their IS a fundamental reason.

Ah well, it appears we've got a dead stock for awhile. I still think management and the board should look into a merger, IMHO.

Regards,

Bill
