Oh, you said she retired at 52 and drew a pension. So isn't that 'early retirement'? Or did she just stop working at age 52, i.e. not draw a pension? Nothing wrong with that.

What I don't understand is how a pension system can keep from going broke if it's members can start taking their pensions in their 50s. If a 50 year old lives another 35 years, they will have drawn a pension for almost as many years as they worked. The math just isn't there. It's worse than social security math.
