So you've demonstrated quite effectively the kind of process a person might go through to justify their involvement (WalMart Employee, or Blood Diamond Broker) once they become aware of the purported implicit harm their behavior was supporting.

And how would they answer the "So What?" question, at least for the immediate time frame? So what, I am supporting my family, contributing to my community, I am adored by friends and family alike for the personal life experiences I involve myself in; further, I own no slaves in Africa and do not force anyone to perform labor in Asian sweat shops, those things would continue to go on with or without my innocuous office work.

It shows how people justify themselves and their actions, which they would not have to do except for the nag on their conscience. Yet it is not settling except maybe for those who consider success at material life to be sufficient in and of itself.
