Otter, I'm not a pothead: I smoked it exactly twice. It made me silly, happy and incredibly hungry. The first time I ate two giant steaks. The second time I ate half a chocolate cake.

But I'm silly and happy enough anyway. And given my weight I don't need more chocolate cake. Plus I don't fancy having to buy it from the local hoodlums. So that's the end of my pot experiment.

But the "War on Drugs" is an obvious crock, an endless excuse for the government to steal billions in taxpayer money and stick it's nose in our private affairs. If it worked they're might be a small argument for it, but it's been going on for 40 years and been a total failure anyway you count it.

So what's the point? Just legalize it all and tax it and arrest anyone who gets out of line, just like we do for alcohol. We'd all be better off. I think that's a principled conservative stand.

Meanwhile, I hope you're enjoying watching your man Obama fumble the ball. Now go back to your hot tub and granola. Stoned, no doubt.
