Ok, everyone. A friend today told me he was reading up on Lincoln and discovered he was the worst president ever! He promised to send me a list of books backing this up. Has anyone heard anything about this? Some of his crimes: 1. Did not want black people in the west, wanted them to return to Liberia. 2. Imposed a 50% tariff on goods, which would bankrupt the South - the real reason for the Civil War. 3. Only 5% owned slaves. 4. Was extremely wealthy, was the go-to guy in the country. Got $5000 for fees, which was huge in that day. Again, I have not read anything like this, but certainly plan to do so.
