Thad Allen and the other useful idiots don't know a damn thing that is useful, or are intentionally not plugging the well for either political gains, or for BP's benefit. The industry have plugged wells with explosives before. Russia even used nukes. Our government still has the information on how to drill a hole and implant nukes for testing. But even conventional explosives will collapse the well hole. Clinton was wrong in his description, there would be no debris from the explosion, it would simply cause a shallow crater and implode the well casing closed.
