Is anyone working on it? Yes. But the only stem cell clinical trial I am aware of (though I haven't done extensive research) is Geron's trial for regrowing nerves. Could someone someday get a transplant that way? The possibility certainly exists and the probability improves with time, but the FDA approval process could make that take years. There is a lot that is uncertain about how such radical biotechnology will advance. If an accident victim can walk because of the treatment, then the news would fill the media. But getting FDA approval for a heart transplant will take how many years? That's why I bought a bit, just to be covered, but haven't jumped in more strongly. It is fascinating to watch. Stay tuned. (And, Bob, I suspect that I haven't told you anything new.)
