As to T/A, for me it's very mechanical. I try not to associate any emotions with it. That's one of the necessary qualities for a good trader, "do not act on emotions". However to get good at T/A takes a lot of charting. I miss a lot of minute details an experienced technician may pick easily. However the more I study, the better i get. GB, I am a firm believer that good things in life come with hard work. So try to establish yourself a system after reading that book and test it . See how it works. Only with time you'll see it get refined.

For emotions etc. I also suggest you to read M. Pring's "Investing Psychology Explained: Classic Strategies to Beat the Markets". You have to couple TA with strong money management and stubborn discipline to be successful. Even if you were a genius in T/A, if you lack discipline, you cannot be successful.
