You are wrong. Study after study shows kids do better who are "pampered" and have their egos reinforced.

First, my background is in experimental psychology. I know the bell curve well. The standard deviation for the Stanford Benit IQ test is 14. So 84 % of people have IQ's above 86. Plenty high enough to get through college. Besides all minds work differently. Some are good at math, but not english and some english and not math.

But everyone benefits from a developed mind.

Most people can go too college. The idea they cannot is a terrible myth.

Secondly, I raised my two girls very very gently. I never even punished them. Not once. I also never, not once had to tell them to do their homework. They were both honor studens all through school.

My older daughter went to the Uiversity of California at Berkeley and then Loyola law school and the other is a scientist. Both are wonderful human beings who help their fellow human, our society and are big recyclers who leave a small carbon footprint.

They mated well and have happy lives. All done without violence and lots of pampering.

And both are very liberal.
