Our 'Infotainment' driven news media equals near ZERO useful info content. (Every once in a great while I perform this little experiment... I spend most a day surfing all of the available cable 'news shows' and news commentary that is electronically available. Just this again just a week ago. Sad to say the conclusion I came away with then, as in previous news-surfing sojourns in recent years was that it is nearly ALL a mammoth waste of time. The blather and nonsense so vastly outweighs what little tidbits of accurate information that are available that way that it becomes mostly an entirely unproductive waste of time....) Re: "He is (almost) resigned to the fact that our great debates about energy and the environment are largely pointless, because they are hugely distorted by politics and sadly uninformed by basic facts. We are a culture of scientific ignoramuses." Hit the nail right on the head yet again....
