In a democracy, society equals government.

So we, the government must always ensure the children do not starve.

Hoover did not do that, and relied on charities and children went hungry and lacked for proper sheltor and unemployment went ot 25% and was the reason FDR won in a landslide.

He put 8 million people to work in 6 months. There is a strou that FDR called Harry Hopsin into his office and said: "go out and find out what the people need. Today."

That is why the people so loved FDR.

I thnk where people get cofused is the idea of people being separate from government. If government isn't working it is our fault for voting in jackasses.

In a democracy "we" are that government, so it is just we who are doing it, not some amorphous government.
