Someone wrote that Peak Oil is like a Rorschach test. People use it to project their wishes onto the future. For instance, those who pray for the death of industrial capitalism are likely to view Peak Oil as the catalyst for just such an event. In this mindset Peak Oil functions as a Messiah

This is crazy sh*t. I don't want this society to die but rather to transition from an oil dependent economy to one that depends on a whole host of energy sources.

What this doomer crap is about is that the author and his cohort are afraid of change for any number of reasons and is trying to hold the rest of us back. That ain't happening if I have anything to say about it.
