Let's wait for the quarterly report and see wherer they stand. Obviously, from the analyst view it's important that they hit their "number"; I would be more interested in whether their strategy is on track, what the "carbon" number is, have they developed any new markets, and what have they done to maintain a competitive advantage over other companies.
Zolt, being covered by Cabot, is a pure momentum play for many investors; they seem to care less about the fundamentals. If ZOLT drops 20% for no good fundamental business reason, Cabot, IBD and the other momentum players will drop it like a hot potato. Even though I subscribe to the Cabot letter ( he has provided some super leads, e.g. Maverick tube, Key energy, Vitesse, etc.), I don't buy into the momentum philosophy, however; I like to lean on fundamentals.
The reason I brought up the mom stuff is that you ususally see wild price gyrations with little company news. There's really nothing to say regarding the price changes. Although there may be a high thread activity there is nothing coming out of the company or the anlysts. so in some ways I don't expect ZOLT to comment on the price volatility. On the other hand I prefer companies that talk to their owners continually, particularly on milestone occasions, and ones that lead analyst to the right conclusions w/o negative earnings surprises. ZOLT is going through tremendous change right now, with many milestones to meet; I wish they would communicate more. Oh well. As i said earliuer, let's see what the 10Q says.
good luck to the longs. |
