I still go by a strict definition of economic stimulus. Anything that is meant to be temporary and directly has a positive impact on the economy is "stimulus."

Support and safety net programs are not "stimulus." Theoretically they could be temporary, but the Democrats are moving us toward an economy where they will be permanent, regardless of boom or bust.

Spending has increased by at least 20% in the past two years ago. Gotta ask yourself what that bought us. Preventing a crisis from turning into a catastrophe might have value, but that sure isn't "stimulus."

And if you think I'm arguing against a straw man, consider this. Nancy Pelosi herself said that unemployment checks are "stimulus." How utterly stupid is that?
