funny thing about acceptance and graduation-
ok, I'm a black person...and a Doctor and I can tell you I entered med school in 1983 out in 1987 +1yr General surgery and 3 yrs of family medicine, board certified- recertified in 2006- but I can tell you they let in 50 blacks in my class
the number let in has little or no correlation to the number that finished- out of 50 only 10 made it- the rest were wasted/flunked out in the first year- my degree was a BA in chemistry so I did get a break but my MCAT's were equivalent to todays score of 32- due to my math physics reading and chemistry, i had almost no biology, not reqd for chem majors except 100 level basic bio-
medical school was and may still be the great equalizer- of course nowadays their is a conscientous effort- too keep folks in and have them succeed but back in the day no such luck, dummies got tossed and fast some after the 1st qtr some after the second and third- at Univ of Ill chicago back then almost all were gone by the end of the first year and the rest by the second, in the third year we took national boards and lost a couple of more that could not pass and in the 4th year
we had senior comprehensive exam which got rid of the last few, it is not a cakewalk nay far from it and even today the stds for maintaing certification an annual critique one must continue to perform according to standards to keep
licensure- the MJ doc is sad but i can tell you a guy i worked for before starting my own clinic is on his 4-th rehab and he's not black, another caught red handed with coke/opiates and meth was sent to fla for rehab for his third trip- if either were black i can tell ya the missouri board of healing arts would've had them drawn and quartered, the first's father is/was a prominent optometrist and the second was a prominent neurosurgeon that was banned from neurosurg but allowed to do pain mgmt-go figure that one-
and FTR, i'm not some bleeding liberal, i'm conservative and obama can kiss mba- he's a tool, nothing more. the elite has an agenda and played upon the weak minded and minorities but did not really need an election to put who they wanted where- our country is so corrupted by greed/malfeseance self grandisement that it will never amount to shit again..as in my lifetime- the rest is total BS, the whole colored thing is but a reason to blame, trully superior beings don't bother with such triviality as they are indeed above it all-
