Krugman is right again.

I don't think he is. Oh sure there are some in congress that want the dems to fail and will vote accordingly - but don't you think that most republicans are against extending benefits because of their ideology? I mean gosh - that's what they stand for; smaller government and less welfare. And lets be honest here - extending unemployment at the federal level is no longer an insurance plan - but is simply welfare. ........Why should small business owners who pay taxes and then find themselves without work be unable to get unemployment while other workers do? ........Notice also that Krugman didn't mention how far out these new benefits go. Of course he didn't because most people would be completely aghast to know how long workers could get such payments.
