Well, if the ground subsides around the blowout preventer, possibly because of compromise of the well bore's integrity, and it collapses into a chasm we certainly will "see" So what if this one in a million event does happen. What happens on the surface is meaningless. Are you expecting a chasm 18,000 feet down into the ocean floor? You're being way too shrill. Get educated.
