Unfortunately this verse is being used out of context as God was answering Solomon's prayers for Israel and God's Temple in the old testament ......this isn't about Christ's followers in America? ....if that matters?

2 Chronicles 7:12
Then the LORD appeared to Solomon in the night and said to him: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a house of sacrifice.

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Ignorance is the source of our separation from the divine....... The great illusion is we are separate?<g>
