Your post seems to indicate, that many Americans like that the employers provide health care insurances instead of paying the money to let people get a health care insurance of their own choice. Is that correctly understood?

In spite of what you may have heard, in the US employer-provided insurance is pretty consistently the best insurance you can get. With a few exceptions. So, most employees are very pleased to have it, and choice really isn't often a problem.

This has deteriorated somewhat in recent years, however, and you hear more grumbling about it now than before.
