predict that our continuous state of various and sundry crisis will continue until Nov.2012... Hate to be the spoiler, but... let me share the worry. America's record with regard to politicians who knew how to use a "good crisis" is not spotless. Proactive Hoover was replaced by a far more proactive Roosevelt, who ended up serving 3 terms and died in office during his 4th. I'm not suggesting anything... but this shows that politicians can be quite effective at pulling the public's strings... during times of crises.
