Doug, ... Avg. connect speeds around country are low 40s. Hardly and improvement from 33.6. Some areas are lucky enough to get mid 40s thats it. Hardly a compelling upgrade. You say few connect at speeds greater than 40k and then assume every one without x2/56kflex connects at 33.6. Lets compare apples to apples, 40k is 39% faster than 28.8k, 52% faster than 26.4k and so on. What other component in your PC can increase performance by 40% to 50% for $100 to $150? Further, if web surfing performance is your goal then this is the key bottleneck to improve. Sounds cheep to me. Dave
