This is the weekly update of the Group/SOX tables in terms of earnings estimates and price changes. Earnings estimates increased again this week, but the amounts were very small. This is a sign of waiting for the quarterly reports that will start coming out this next week. Both indices bounced very nicely to the upside this past week. Nevertheless, both indices are down compared to the levels going into the earnings reporting season in April. On 4/9, the Group index was at 336.61, now on 7/9 it is at 307.33. The SOX index over the same period has gone from 375.76 to 351.36. Incidentally, while the SOX closed at 351.36 this week, the first entry in this table on 8/29/08 shows the SOX closing at 352.82. We've come a long way baby in 2 years!
