Obama couldn't take the political heat. To close Gitmo meant to have trials in the USA. Lawyers enter the fray, maybe someone gets off and released into the USA. Bad juju for 'Bama. With politicians it's all about appearance and votes. Especially a calculator like 'Bama. Gitmo was a big issue with a lot of other peole who voted for 'Bama but it was never a big issue with me.
