BuySide,

I listened to the conference call and here are some of the main points I heard:

Fujitsu is dumping drives, possibly below cost to gain market share.

Over supply is the current problem. Very strong demand. Companies have reduced supply by 17% world wide but still too much. Competition is intense.

ASPs for the quarter have declined more than 10% and at least 3-4% more is expected. This is more than expected. Pricing is declining on mid size drives now, not just low end drives.

Looking into reducing costs but don't know how much can be done.

Working with suppliers on costs.

6+ weeks of inventory in channel.

Accelerating MR programs, 50% in March, 75% in June.

Demand is still strong and growing, 7.3 - 7.5 million units will be shipped.

9 Gigabit demand looks very good.

2 new Japanese OEMs are qualifying drives.

More news at COMDEX (future quater EPS).

Sub $1000 PCs demand at 15% and growing.

Behind other competitors in MR but because they stayed in TFI gained 5-6% market share in past. MR ramp is going very well partly because they took there time.
