I agree we need to cut spending drastically. The BIGGEST welfare-hog offender down here is our bloated, Cold War era military. At least you Canadians don't have that albatross. The latest Obama proposal is to cut the military, closing in on $700 billion a year, by $100 billion a year. I think we should start by HALVING our current military budget, then continue until we were spending about $100 billion a year on it. We'd STILL be spending more than any other nation on Earth! After we do that, if needed, go after the social programs.
