I actually just spent a few hours with my great uncle who is a Beck and O'Reilly lover and was around during those days -- he and I discussed the TVA and he said it was a great thing for America. >Even after The Great Depression, the TVA was cited by Reagan as one of the problems of big, inefficient government.
