Only been a short while since it seemed worth chuckles that the only surviving Marxists were buried in American academia. In a world run right Keynesian elixirs wouldn't have survived the '70's. Hopefully, the last laugh ain't been had yet.

In the harder sciences American Universities produce some awesome results. In economics and political philosophy obsolete orthodoxies still seem to prevail. The apex of the information hierarchy remains ill informed.

I recall Greg Mankiw stating that he's never read the Austrians, assumed their contributions were assimilated in the stream. WRONG! Shortly after he read and praised Hayek's Road to Serfdom.

Cspan recently featured a libertarian Harvard econ prof whose classes are allegedly very popular.

Maybe there's hope.
