$h!t $h!t and triple $h!t I just did something I should have done long ago. I called GTW, they asked me if I was "part of the Gateway family". What kind of crap is THAT! Anyway, they asked whether I wanted a home or business PC and switched me over to an order taker. He asked for my name so he can put it on my "order form". What kind of crap is THAT! I was looking for information, just shopping around, 30 seconds and they are already looking for a commitment to buy! DAMN! I HATE THAT FROM ANY SALESPERSON IN ANY TYPE OF BUSINESS!!!! Next I asked what is their lowest cost model. He responded by mumbling something about their 166 MMX (no price quote or nuthin'). So I asked if I could buy the unit without the printer and monitor as it had been advertised as a package. Sure, he said. My hopes are now getting up. I ask, how much? He said $1,349. I said, "no, no, WITHOUT a printer or monitor". He said $1,349. I said, "OK, how much with printer and monitor". He said, $1,499. "So you're only cutting about 100 bucks if I don't take the printer and monitor?" He said, "It's more than 100". I said, "OK, $150". He pauses then says "Yes $150." I swear I felt like saying "GO SHOVE IT UP YOUR @SS!!!" But I knew that is the result of jerks in the Marketing management. I'm exasperated and I'm considering buying puts. |
