Ah, you were talking about "excesses" not "inefficiencies." Well, like the latter, I'm opposed to "excesses." But I'm not in favor of dismantling, to say this once again, the public sector because the wealthy aren't paying their fair share. Just to stick another cliche into the conversation.

Steinbrenner dies; no estate tax. For all the silly reasons we know too well. Federal government loses hundreds of millions.

And the public mantra right now is to stop unemployment insurance. Oh, please. Or cut back on public education, police, firefighting, roads, bridges, and so on.
