Barry, Re:"Intel sees no margin decline from sub-$1000 PC trend"

I have been question myself the same question for weeks.

My underground source shows both servers and sub $1000 PC are growing fast. But I am afraid the deep price cut will hurt the margin.

Earlier this week, Andy said to investors "the expensive CPU sold initially didn't bring much revenue to Intel, it has been always the lower priced CPUs which bring in revenue......The price cut has been alwyas the same in the past as a transition procedure..."

About Inventory correction...
It is good to know the impact created by build-to-oreder model is under control now. My hope is the P/2 transition will not make too many P MMX as inventory problem. I remebered Intel has too many classic P on hand when the transition for P MMX is faster than expected in Jan. 97.

With these questions cleared, I believe it is time to load more INTC again.
