Personally, I believe that Governors are better candidates than Congressional types. Senators and Representatives are seldom called to answer for their mistakes, lies, sexual discretions, mis-representations etc. Further, they don't manage anything.

Governors, while allowed to throw spears, are also required to catch them.

A different world than the Kennedys, the Kerrys, the McCains, the Schummers live in.
