I believe that Governors are better candidates than Congressional types.

I agree. At least they have to run something and the responsibility comes back to them.

I'm reading Vince Flynn's Term Limits, which was published in 1997. The chief of staff character couldn't be closer in description and actions as the current one. The parallels to what's going on with today's administration are just uncanny.
