7/16/10 Update As implied in last week’s update, the Bulls on Wall Street would “eventually” suffer the same fate as Pamplona’s bulls. “Eventually” turned out to be just one week. At Friday’s close, the Nasdaq Composite Index was down -3.97% YTD (vs. down -3.2% YTD a week ago) and the Nasdaq Biotech Index was down -5.12% YTD (vs. down -2.84% YTD a week ago), while the Contest median was down -5.56% YTD (vs. down -3.71% YTD a week ago). DEWDIL's portfolio (up 31.15% YTD) held on to the Contest lead, with FILO's portfolio (up 22.04% YTD) and ROCKY's portfolio (up 20.68% YTD) still in the No. 2 & No. 3 spots. At Friday's close, as was the case last week, 11 of the 32 Contest portfolios were in the black and 16 of the 32 were beating the NBI (including my own portfolio, thanks to Tekmira). Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the week (foreign stock prices are not converted to US$ in these two tables). Have a wonderful weekend biotechies! (All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.)
