Here's What You Haven't Heard About the Oil Crisis

In a video hitting the blogosphere today, real ordinary citizens tell their side of the Gulf oil crisis. Project Shining City has created the thirty-two minutes long video. Embedded inside it are shocking revelations about how the Obama administration and BP are ignoring a hurting people.

As this film was created around Day 81, BP had not completed the capping of the well. Even though the cap appears to be holding today, the devastation of 87 days of spewing oil will have repercussions for the entire U.S. and for years to come.

Highlights of the interviews:

One man talks about a friend of his seeing ten miles of water near the shoreline covered with dead fish around the first of May.

A woman talks about watching a clean-up crew come into Grand Isle. She describes the actual work crew taking forty-five minute breaks after a fifteen minute clean-up. This apparently happens every hour until the end of the work day.

An interviewer talks about locals being laid off from their regular jobs in retaliation for their attempts to clean up the beaches for themselves. In place of local help, "day laborers" are bused in to do the 15 minutes on, 45 minutes off clean-up.

A woman at a protest against BP rally says her biggest fear is the toxicity of the dispersants. She tells us that George Soros and Al Gore have big stakes in the dispersants company.

The interviewer tells us there is a media gag order down there, so many citizens will not come forward with what they know for fear of losing any job they may be holding onto.
