The second diagram would should two satellites emitting signals. The circles they scribe would intersect in two places on opposite sides.

Actually 2 radiant points intersecting form a circle at intersection, with no unique points, a radiant point gives you a sphere at Time + x. 3 radiant points intersect at 2 unique points. It takes at least three satellites to get your location (while there are 2 intersecting points, one point can be thrown out as it would show that your altitude above sea level at about 20,000 miles. Four satellites gives you one and only one unique point.
