Bottom line is why are the feds raiding voluntary food co-ops? It's about the freedom to choose.

Because the feds seem unable to distinguish minimal protective measures and outright intrusion?

While talking to the farmer may be enough, I am not sure that I would be qualified to know what constitutes proper conditions. Personal choice is fine until children are dying and the proportion of illness from dairy products is much greater for the raw milk drinkers. Of course, the govt should also be clamping down much harder on the use of hormones in animals. Not to mention the unknown consequences of genetically modified foods.

My son sent me an article this morning on some entrepreneurial young men who started a company that helps people who are struggling to meet their mortgage payments find renters for their extra bedrooms and bring in enough income to get through the tough times. Now the govt is getting concerned about unregulated rentals, asking about sanitation and noise and parking.

I fear that we are slowly squeezing that can do spirit out of Americans with our need to control every last threat. Why try? If your effort threatens an organized group, they will attempt to stifle you, or the govt will regulate you out of business.
I'd like to see marijuana legalized and a woman's right to choose left alone also.
