If GS and Merrill Lynch made a fortune in the food commodities someone must have had the other side of that trade. I wonder who lost a fortune? I doubt it was anyone in Ethiopia. Maybe some pension plan. Maybe AIG and the TARP will cover the loss, now that would be a story.
