Ted and all, Intel turns on its solar plant in Folsom, CA (narrated slide show behind the link): cagcali.com Here is a real-time graph of the power produced by the solar plant: solarguard.solarcity.com Unfortunately, it seems the solar plant, which is rated at over one megawatt of peak power, is only delivering half that amount at noon. I just checked Folsom weather on weather.com and it's supposed to be 99 degrees there. That's a huge gap between theoretical and actual power delivery. But still, half a megawatt during the hottest part of summer is pretty good. That's more than enough to keep the air conditioners running, light up the offices, and relieve the load on California's overstressed power grid.
