S, re:less than 2M K6's

Nobody at AMD ever said they needed 2M K6's to break even for the quarter, they said they needed 2M K6's to break even for the year. The breakeven point for the quarter is between 1.5M and 2M K6's. The K6 production is between 1.5M and 1.9M. Guess what, that means "it might not turn a profit for the period." Hey, I'm not holding my breath, either, but if the "breakeven" revenue level is between 650M and 700M, thats doable even with a little over 1.5M K6's if they really can sell some 266's in December like they claim.

It must have been disappointing to you to see AMD stock rise today. The reason for this is that, if anything, AMD confirmed that their 0.25 roadmap is on schedule, and, secondly, that people realized that there's not much difference between a prediction of 0.05 profit and a warning that it [AMD] "might not turn a profit."
